Over the last few weeks the Public Participation in Education Network (PPEN), East London has been receiving book donations from as far as the United Kingdom internationally and Cape Town locally. Most of the books are for children between the ages of four and seventeen. There are fiction and nonfiction books, information and data journals, puzzles, wordbooks and games. Just when I thought my relationship with kid’s books and literature was just a stage in my life that lapsed when I became an adult. I have been reminded that books are always exciting, whether they are written for kids or adults, and adults can enjoy them as much as kids do. The trick here is to be able to pick one that you like and read it to yourself and get into the story. You will find that once you like it, others who you read to will like it as well. Let’s find books, lots of books and read, read, read!>
