Foundation Phase Teacher Support Coodinator
The Nelson Mandela Institute is a high energy and creative organisation launched to take forward the work of Mr. Mandela in the area of education and rural development. We seek a committed Foundation Phase educator to support child-centred, interactive bilingual foundation phase classrooms in the Eastern Cape.
Post Requirements:
1. Minimally a B-Ed degree.
2. Fluency and high levels of literacy in isiXhosa and English.
3. A minimum of three years teaching experience in the South African public GET schooling system. Experience in the foundation phase and/or teacher development and support is an advantage.
4. A commitment to social activism, and an optimistic / energetic attitude toward the transformation of public schooling.
5. A valid driver’s licence; willingness and ability to travel extensively in rural communities.
6. Experience, creative energy, and an interest in building a career to support education, particularly in the GET phase.
Terms: Three to five year fixed term contract.
Remuneration: Competitive package commensurate with experience and qualifications, including support for further post-graduate study.
