We will donate books to students, visits schools, mix with teachers and parents and let them know the immense value of taking care of the children, for they are one of God’s most precious gifts to us the human race.

We will also like to say that we believe absolutely in Mandela, his vision for the world and his unparalleled dreams for the children of the world.

The children are truly the future of the world and how we handle them today will determine what they shall become tomorrow.

Thanks to Nelson Mandela for positively championing the cause of children and the noble cause of the human race.

MADIBA : THE GREAT NELSON MANDELA

Dedicated to Nelson Mandela, one of the world’s greatest men!

An icon of possibilities

A hero of peace

A pillar of strength

A great hope to many

You’ve inspired millions across the globe

To do great things

With the great life they have been blessed with

And achieve great things

That are uncommon to men

The whites and the blacks

Still love you

Children of the world adore you

The youth’s identify with you

You are too great for mankind to ignore

The world is indeed very blessed

That a great man like you was born

Giant strides you’ve taken

Too many positive things you’ve done

Thanks for your concern for the world

And thanks for the invaluable contributions

You’ve made to the human race

Madiba “The Great Nelson Mandela”

Your great name will never be forgotten

For it is already blessed in heaven and on earth

And it will always be fondly remembered

Even in eternity.

CHILDREN OF THE WORLD

Children of the world
Heroes of tomorrow
Legends of the future
Great ones that are destined to take mankind to another level
In them you see a great gift to the world
In them you see the very wonders of creation
In them you see so much greatness
That will shake the world
They are born to make history
And change the cause of the human race in their own time
They are great blessings to us
For they are angels from Heaven
On a mission to do great works on earth
We must all rally around them
To make them grow not only to their full potentials
But to also become giants amongst men

- FRANCIS TITUS KING

THE AFRICAN CHILD

Dedicated to the African children worldwide!

We were once like them
We grew up to become giants
And legends in our own field
But what about them?
What about the African child?
What about our African children?
We must stand by their side
Like a true friend
We must give hope to the hopeless
For with hope they can make it
We must give them love
For our love will bring out the greatness and the best in them
We must reach out and touch their lives positively
For that is one of the greatest reasons for which we came
We must rise up to support and empower them in every way we can
For with this power their rise to greatness can be accelerated
She must become a heroine
He must become a Hero
The African child
The pride of Africa
We must give them a voice
To become not only all they are supposed to be
But to also fulfill their great destinies!

I have been supporting education through my own initiative. I started a an NGO 8 years ago and we provided quality creches, full equipped to previously disadvantaged children.

In addition we train care givers, provide curriculum and lesson plans for the children. We have 4 quality creches, in the process of renovating another 4 and then we support 25 other creches with the training and lesson plans. We source donations of toys and educational equipment etc.

I believe a lot more effort has to go into Early Childhood Development and we could use Mandela Day in the future to assist.

READ staff are going to three creches in Kwa Thema township on Friday July 16, where we will spend time with the children, and give them the toys the Read staff have made or donated.

Over the last two weeks READ staff have been making home made toys, hemming fabric, sewing curtains, to help furnish the creches we will visit on Friday. We have also collected donations from staff, to buy toys and fruit for the children of those creches.

READ will be implementing a new Early Childhood Development intervention in this area soon and these children (all 300 of them) will be part of that project.

The ECD intervention aims to train caregivers so that they can assist the children in their care with child developmental work. This means they will be helping the children become school ready. ECD is a pivotal part of every child’s development.

We will be leaving from the REAd Head Office at no 4 Handel Road Ormonde, at 12.00 on Friday and returning at 4.00. Anyone who wishes to come with us please call Katy on 011 496 3322. Donations of towels, linen, blankets and carpets would be appreciated.
